...live the military wife life.
Once again, dinner is ready on the stove, but my husband is nowhere in sight. For this military wife, "hurry up and wait" expires in about a half hour. Even if he's still not home, I'm eating!
...enjoy!
It has been a while since I have posted about Lucy. She's been up to the same old things. She chases the lizards, barks at the squirrels, and lays in the sun for hours. The other day we gave her a special treat. It lasted about five minutes, but it looked like five minutes of heaven for Lucy! Yep. I had to clean the carpet after.

...compromise.
Well, I joined the band-wagon. Blogger has this newfangled "Template Designer" that I've seen some folks use. It gives you a lot more options than the older templates. My big hang-up was that I like to design my own backgrounds. Well, I found out that you can use your own picture in one of these new templates. So, I did just that. What do you think? Does it look like I sold out?
BTW, here is the link to where Blogger spills the beans on how to use your own pic: http://www.google.com/support/blogger/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=175740.
PS for Facebook readers: You can view the new template and picture I am using by visiting my blogsite, http://28seasons.blogspot.com/.

...ruin a pretty picture.
Here's another picture post for you.
What do you see when you first look at it?
It's a pretty picture of tropical flowers, right? Look closer. What do you see?
It's a snail! He climbed all the way up there. Is he cute sitting up in that flower? Do you see what I see? Look closer.
Check out that slimy, snail trail! You have to be comfortable with slime to be a snail. 'Just saying...

...see things as they are!
You couldn't help it, could you?!
You've guessed.
You think you know what it is.
I'm not going to just let you see what it is without some scrolling! It just wouldn't be fair.
I also know that some of you will see this post first. For those of you that didn't see yesterday's post first, here's the spoiler alert: My "...see things differently" post has an abstract picture on it. The original picture will be revealed in this post. If you don't want to play along, click on the link to my last post before reading/scrolling down. For the rest of you...

It's a white magnolia blossom! Okay. Who guessed that I was going to post a flower? Am I that obvious? 'Hope you had fun. I know I did. ;)

...see things differently.
The "fluff" is not ending, folks. In fact, here's a little abstract fluff for y'all to enjoy today:
I like this little abstract picture I took. Don't try to guess what it is. That will only ruin today's picture. Just enjoy the shapes for what they seem to be. Let your imagination run wild! I'll show you the picture it came from in my next post. If I showed it to you now, you would see things differently. Trust me.

...pass the time with you.
This blog talks about seasons in my life. That's why the title is "A time to..." with each post entry aimed at finishing that sentence. I hope to relate to my readers thru sharing these seasons.
Since scripture inspired the blog title, I'll refer to religious verse again. I like the prase we read over and over in the scriptures; "it came to pass." I add a little pause when I read it. "It came" {pause} "to pass." I think it accentuates the literal meaning (not that I'm advocating a purely literal reading of scriptures). In other words, I read it as if it said, "it came in order to pass."
Everything has a purpose. I find comfort believing that the purpose may be to "pass" or endure whatever season we are in. If we understand that seasons pass, then we can better appreciate the present. When we have bad seasons, we can find comfort knowing they will pass. When good seasons come, we can cherish them more knowing these too pass.
Two years have passed since I started this blog. What's it all for? My posts don't have a theme. They are random bits of fluff from my life that I hope you have found amusing at times. I'm not even sure why I blog. Perhaps it is a social exercise. Blogging and reading other blogs helps me feel connected in a small way to the big, bad, cyber'verse. (Yes. I may have just made that word up...I'll own it.) Humanity is found wherever people are, and people put themselves into their blogs.
Perhaps all these random posts add up to shared moments that come and go. If we occasionally connect over them, then the blog has served it's purpose. I post to pass the time with you.
Thanks for sharing these seasons.

...try to shine.
I want to become a "Hallmark Star." I've created a card for the new contest: Crack 'Em Up. I picked the Friendship category. Some of you may remember the picture I used from an old blog entry called, "...cry uncle!"
Here's the outside:
The inside will read:
Let me know what you think.
I'll let you know if my design gets picked.

I've learned so much from you.

...block out tomorrow on my calendar.
That's right. I'll be busy tomorrow. I have plans...to stay in and read the latest Stephenie Meyer story. It's almost time to run out and buy "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner." Okay, okay. So, I have hours before I can actually have the book in hand. I'm just announcing that I may not be available if anyone calls or emails or comes over. Tomorrow my mind will be in Seattle.
